There is a member on site...but I forget who...that did it. I also think they put up an extra unit for sale at the end of last year.

LionPT,
I appreciate the info.
However, the only member I can find that was selling in the classifieds was jetmax for an RKE for a gen 1.

I need a keyless entry solution for the gen 2.

There is a G2 around somewhere, maybe someone else will remember.
It was a Blue G2 with a video of his wife working the remote to show it off.

I found that thread - i believe it was adding remote start to his existing keyless entry.

Having just finished my Body electric class where we talked about theft systems... I duno.

(quality education right there jk)

Technically if everything was there and the module was programmed correctly and the PCM was A-OK with the proper programming, It should work.

Without being intimately familiar with the Gen2's systems. There is certain information that can be generally applied. The PCM, Key, and SKREEM all exchange information to ensure proper theft system operation. You'd have to replace the SKREEM with a version that supports the keyless entry, so you'd have to go through with reprogramming the keys to the system again.
Also besides ensuring there are lock motors, and wireing. There might need to be a PCM reflash to enable keyless entry (Gen 2 problems).

If you would like me to seriously put some effort and time into researching this, PM me in 2 weeks when im done with finals and done working on my own car (lowering springs incoming).

I think this is correct. If you look in the parts catalogue for an 06, and cross reference the sales codes, you can see that they have a few different part numbers for the skreem for immobilizer only, or immobilizer + keyless entry.

And not only would you have to program the vin and keys to the new module, like Rick posted earlier, if you installed a new skreem, you would have to turn on or off options based upon what the car has or not, probably in the TIPM/FCM as when it detects the new module, stuff will be activated, such as the tire pressure monitors etc.

It would be really cool to get a hold of a StarScan or whatever the new tool Chrysler uses now, and see just what you can turn on and off hidden inside the various modules.

So I don't think a replacement SKREEM is the way to go. Don't want to break anything...

so now i need to find an aftermarket that works with the CAN BUS system...

BAH!

The locks are electric from the inside, correct? If so, that means that all the lock actuators are in place.

It might be as simple as getting the correct SKREEM and keys, and some programming from a dealership? Have no idea what any of that would cost.

But you might have better luck and cheaper going through a stereo/alarm shop?
