Cool Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Probably been close to a year since I last gave the car a bath! So spent a couple hours giving the car a decent scrubbing. Mostly getting the pollen out of the nooks and crannies, missed some but overall it's way cleaner and shinier!

I finally got around to adjusting the amp today. I still need to really fine tune it but it is way better now. It was too hot out to spend a lot of time messing around with it, so I got it in the ballpark...

About time I changed out my filter I bought WAY back in the day.
So I did.

Ordered a Kit from EBAY for about $27 Bucks. About... 4 months ago.
So I took it out and put it on.
(Sorry about the CRAPPY resize) (chromebook...YEa)

I got the kit, and it came with all this other stuff that I could not really use.

The Problem with most kits is that the Rubber part has 2 ports on it. One for the Air temp sensor, and the other for CCV (Crank Case Vent? or PCV?)

So I just put this on the rubber part just as I did with the APEX'i filter from back in the day that was a copy of the HKS one. I might just get another one like it. Found some..

Also found one on Ebay.

I took it for a Drive today, and it just does not sound the same as the old one.
I don't care for it. It actually muffles the intake sound I love right when it hits its glorious redline.. LOL.

Its sounds like the stock setup actually.

It just fit right on with just pushing it on the stock rubber there as the old one, and then I just tightened it on. Working great. Took it on a test drive, everything still is in place. I have a PROBLEM with things not staying...

Its going to be time to check the Brakes soon.
Want to do the Job with my son, so I might wait on that. Got to teach him some things!

Check one of the front tires. Seems like its close to its time to be swapped out before winter comes. Just going to order a set from walmart when they are on sale. I tend to change out tires every year. so I just get the cheap ones.

Wish I could just rewire everything and use a Minivans ROCK SOLID electrical system in this car.

So to celebrate reaching 100,000 miles, we drove the 60 miles down to Galveston, and filled up with ethanol-free gas at Buccees. Just fyi, true total cost of ownership for these 100,000 miles is appx. .30 cents/mile true operating cost. But over last 12 months: appx. $149/month true cash cost of operation and use... Cant beat that for a fun little car!

Got a nail in my tire (Yay)! Seems to hold air overnight, so I'm gonna see if I can limp it 35 miles into town and drop it at the shop next to my work. I can do anything on a car, but I hate working on tires. That and alignment are the two things I'll always tap out and let a shop deal with.

I hate waiting, I hate paying. How long and how much does it cost nowadays? So I can feel good spending 30 minutes patching a tire or adjusting toe?

Engine temp sensor had been acting up for a month or more.
So yesterday afternoon, I got into the area, and in making space to replace the sensor and Thermostat while I was at it, I discovered that the passenger side motor mount/torque strut was shot/broken.
Got er' done!

Hope the motor mount was the source of the little rattle I had been having, (sounded like) behind the glove box to me.
