I would suggest verifying that you manually test the radiator fan that both speeds are working. So many members have found out the hard way that one of the speeds was not working.

If radiator fans is working properly I would suggest checking to see if you have the TIPM. The A/C compressor relay is inside the TIPM and needs the signal before it turns on the A/C compressor.

Problem is solved. Freon level was....well....Non existent. There was no Freon in the tank at all. Bone dry. Cleaned out and filled up and all is working again.

There were no major leaks. I was told that every A/C system has minor leaks from the pressure in the system. Also spoke with the dealer I bought it from (Which was also his personal vehicle) and he said it stopped working in 2015
end of summer and then he moved to NY in spring time. Doesn't get as hot in NY as it did in Tennessee so he never bothered to get it charged or fixed. So it's been inactive for 2 years almost. But, it works fine now and no leaks that I can see. Ran it all day. They also put Dye in the system so if it does leak more than normal they said they could see where its leaking from.

I did get him to reimburse me for half the cost of the recharge as its one thing he forgot to mention before I bought it. I didnt test it because it was mid winter when I bought it.

My AC ran out of "Freon" once too.
Had it charged up.
No leak test.
Cost me $169
2 weeks later the AC stopped working....
Gotta fix that leak....

It seems to me they agree that it is leaking but don't want to find the leak. The proper testing equipment is needed to trace the leak.

A well maintained AC system should have no leaks.
Same as the AC in your house.

Now that you had yours filled lets hope that the leak you have is tiny and the Freon will last long enough to get you through the summer or maybe longer.

If the Freon lasts the summer and you don't mind the expense of refilling it once a year, then you're good to go.
If the Freon only lasts a week or two, then the leak has to be found and repaired.

Well, in any case I will be monitoring for leaks. It may or may not. If it does leak badly then ill get it fixed at some point. I havent seen any leaks on any lines or components. so. We'll see
