In the Market for Another Cruiser

Hey y'all!

So after my wife's minor fender bender that toatled her Chevy >.< We are considering getting a new car. We are at least gonna weigh our options.

She really likes the convertible cruisers, so what's a decent price to pay?
I'd prefer turbo, but that's not a requirement. I'd also like leather, but again, not required. Auto is a must though for her.

For those of you that own them, what do you think?

Any PT you get now won't be "new" but it will be "new" to you, but at least 8 years old now if you get a 2010

To me, a 'vert is nice to have as a play car but not something practical for a daily driver.

With a 'vert you have a much smaller trunk and would lose all the open area in the back if you had something large to haul. No 400+ Chick-fil-A sandwiches in a 'vert

Although you could probably haul more in the 'vert, just put the top down, stack up your coolers and throw straps over them

Also, one cut with a knife or sharp object and there goes the soft top

I'd say Turbo SHOULD BE a requirement... At least the Turbo Lite!

Did they make convertibles with the "Touring Edition" trim? Having driven both, I would never go the normally aspirated route...

Well, even with all these shortcomings, she really wants a convertible! Hahahaha. I'd be keeping my wagon for hauling the family and for delivering chicken sandwiches

I would recommend getting a convertible without the turbo. The more parts you have on the engine the more things that can go bad. If you have money to burn go for the turbo.

Holy scuttle-shake, Batman...

This is one of those pics I will come back to and back to - just to work out exactly what they did.

The roll bar would probably be pretty simple to add to a cut 4-door if you could fabricate and weld, but the windscreen frame looks like a proper Vert frame - or at least the top of it does... cut and shut of the A-pillars...?
