People gettting upset about street racing

I have a two mile back road near me, has corn fields/farms on each side, no intersecting roads nor driveways. Can see on either side for about 1 mile.

I routinely open up my cars and have gotten up to over 110 a few times testing mods. Do this when no one is coming in the opposite direction and no cops.

I do agree racing on congested streets is stupid, but the best races I have gotten in is coming out of the shoots at toll booths on highways, amazes me how many people see my cars and nail it leaving the booth from a roll. I will take up the challenge and stay in my lane and go to about 75mph or so.

Of course I think today the punks in their rice cars seem to have no regard about doing stupid things, they have two speed gas pedals, idle or floored

Wow 2 pages & no mustang owners jumping in? What is this world coming to? I know I wasnt posting at the time but anyone remember the WRX thread?
Street racing threads are stupid at best, but WAY to funny because of how people react to them. We all know it is stupid & dangerous. Outcomes can be GROSSLY exaggerated, & or just a case of a bad driver/driver not knowing he is actually racing. Unless you are truely mentally handicapped, some people just dont care & no matter what you say, it will take something drastic for them to change, so I dont bother.

yes , the thread seems to have turned into a
chance for all the P.C. old timers to spit out
their latest round of preaching.

at most PT events i go to, the real performance guys
are out numbered by the people who make some kind of a
rolling stage show out of their car, some kind of wacky theme.
they treat the car as almost a favorite toy.

it's hard to defend the Turbo PT to other car people,
when there is so much fluffy theme stuff around.

what happened to this thread is just a reminder of
that.

The real performance guys do it at the track. The wannabe's do it dangerously on the street. Now you are whining because good people have the nerve to fix their PT's up the way they want and it makes you insecure about your PT? Why do you feel the need to defend the GT? Sad how ego can bring you down. I'm glad I survived my young and stupid stage. I hope you do, too.

blah, blah, blah,

talking performance at a show while the guy next to
you has his car painted like a dairy cow, and the guy
on the otherside has a rolling Disney diplay can be
strange...

i'm passing along an experience.

you continue to preach.....

But it takes on a whole new meaning when some one driving that corvette, mustang, ricer or what ever is beaten by that dairy cow... [)]

You just have to shake your head. [?]

There isn't a big difference between street racing and trying to get to work rapidly on the 405. With street racing you need someone else to participate; getting to work I just use other cars as pilons![8)]

During my commute, I use dairy cows as pilons, they don't like to talk about racing though.

Street racing is a sure sign of a moron, and someone whom knows nothing about real racing.

We get a lot of would-be Mario Andrettis at the race track at the weekend. Street racers that try their hand with the big dogs.

I guess it's good and bad. It's good that it gets the minless idiots off the streets, where my wife and kids are driving to school or what have you.

Bad in that it puts a-holes on our race track. At least until oine of us humiliates them in a controlled environment. Sometimes that can take as long as 12.8 seconds :&gt

Cheers.

Joe
