I don't know much about the post '99 DOHC as they stopped being sold here. I'd get factory parts manuals and start comparing numbers.
There is no way a 2.4 piston would fit, wrist pin is larger.
(BTW, the OLD 2.2 and 2.5 use the same bore, but to my recollection aren't cloase enough to fit)
'00 & up US market Neon were SOHC, their pistons would work but have a slightly different dome.
I'd *strongly* question need to replace pistons. The only thing an out of spec piston will do is make a little more noise on start up- Just check new ring to existing piston gap with feeler gauge (land-groove ring side gap).

I also worry about quality of aftermarket pistons, even custom forged pistons- I bought a set and rejected them, and people had problems with their poor design.

    Good luck!!!

    Hi uptownsport,
I have a 2 liter ecc pt cruiser and with 320,000 k's on the clock and was looking at rebuilding the engine and am unsure of what pistons to use as the ones on the 01 parts cataloge show differing part numbers for the 2 and the 2.4's and the ones for the neons look to be differant again. any help would be appreciated.
