Woodward Dream Cruise 2017

I'm always 10 years late to everything, and Woodward is no exception. I'm planning to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise for my first time this year, and wondered if any other PT Cruisers still gather anywhere. I'll be coming from Vermont, so I'm not too familiar with the area...

I don't know any information about this event. I'd like to go, but I need more than just a name.

The Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit is a big event that began in 1995.

This year the cruise is August 19, nine to nine. Here is the web site. Here are quotes from the FAQ page.

"The Woodward Dream Cruise is the world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture that attracts over 1 million visitors, and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles."

"The Dream Cruise takes place along a 16-mile stretch on the historical Woodward Avenue through nine host communities including Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak, in Southeast Michigan."

I know that not all PT owners are into the classic car scene, but I've heard this event is amazing. The "Dream Cruiser" is actually named after this event. I've had it on my bucket list for a long time, and this is the year!

It would be fun to meet up with other PT owners if there is any interest. If not, I'll still enjoy cruising my convertible...:D

the Dream Cruise is great.

Unfortunately, PT's don't get much respect here in the Detroit area... and strangely, there is no real PT clubs or owners groups.

the good news? there is a VERY robust Mopar group here in town (Detroit Area Modern Mopar - DAMM) who is pretty inclusive for us misfits, and the SRT4 guys are very welcoming of PTGT guys.

I am not sure what all the details will be yet for DreamCruise this year, but I am fairly certain there will be a few large gatherings along the route that you may be readily welcomed into.

I'll post more info on what the DAMM group is doing when it becomes available.

That's great - thank you! I've had many classic & muscle cars over the years, but currently just have my PT. I like it and that's all I really care about, so I'll definitely be going and cruising. Hope to see others there too!:D

Thanks for checking out my post. Are you coming for the day of the cruise ?
Thursday & Friday are also good cruising days. I`m starting to see more Pt
cruisers, some that are fixed up really nice. It would be nice to see four or
five together. I might know of a place we can meet on Woodard.

We are coming for Friday and Saturday. Just a quick trip for this year to check it out. Might come for the whole week next year if it works out.

Let me know if there are any plans. I'd love to meet up with some others Cruisers. With the numbers dwindling, we gotta stick together...

I will keep you up dated. I have 05 GT Conv. and we have a lot of fun with it.
I think if people see a few of these kool little cars together. It will draw some
more interest. Take Care .
