Cheap is definitely up there. For the first year or two it was how unique they were. But it didn't take long for Chrysler to cheapen them up and they were one of the cheapest "full size" cars you could buy for nearly all of the 10 years of production.

Lots of bang for the buck.
As already stated, these cars were inexpensive to buy new and had lots of cool features. And as they aged and got super cheap for resale, that just heightened the value versus cost ratio. And I believe that's why today, even after what will soon be eight years out of production, there's still a very healthy membership of PT enthusiasts here on this forum and new ones signing up everyday. ![]()

Here are a couple Links regards the PT Cruiser and its Origins and Designer Bryan Nesbit........
http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive...bryan-nesbitt/ Here is a 2nd link that describes all the various Models of PT Cruisers... A Short History of the PT Cruiser - AutoInfluence Both articles are well worth reading... *Its worth noting that Bryan Nesbit tried to re-capture the Popularity and Universal appeal of the PT Cruiser when he joined GM in 2001, Designing the GM HHR, Solstice and several other GM offerings...Nothing has equaled the PT Cruiser's Unique Style... The PT Cruiser is definitely a Throwback to the 1930's, the PT Cruiser will only continue to grow in Popularity and Collector status, Buy now while still inexpensive....... I'd say "comfortable". A lot of smaller cars sit lower, at the expense of comfort. Not so with the Cruiser.

You should put yours in a barn, Rick. Then go find another one to drive. 20 years from now, you can say, "Hey, Look what I found!".

The PT is Retro, a Throwback to the 1930's in Appearance... - this one did the job for me. I'm a sucker for retro things, have a couple of computers from the 90' (huh is it retro already? how the time flies
