Default 2005 GT convertible 5-Speed Cluth/Slave Cylinder HELP!

Hi all,

I am just trying to ease my paranoia a bit. I had clutch replaced 22,000 miles ago, at the time I guess the slave cylinder wasn't leaking so it was not replaced. Slave was leaking for last 3,000 miles and finally failed on me. So now they went in and replaced that..($$$$)... Shop test drove it and said everything is great!

I could be being picky but it seems to rev poorly compared to before slave was replaced. Around 2000-3000 rpm and on it's way back down to idle it seems like there's a burden on the engine and on cold start the dash and steering wheel shake pretty horribly. Also if I get rolling in first and feather the clutch off, right before I drop my foot completely off, the car kind of lurches, seemingly engaging the clutch before I do. Pulling through second around 4500 rpm its jumped 500 rpm, almost felt like slipping, but no traction control came on. ONE more thing. If I'm low in gear and press on gas (putting a little strain on engine) it almost whistles or tinkles.. I don't know how else to explain it, maybe I'm just going crazy.

Any info would be appreciated. Needless to say I should probably express my concerns to the shop, but I'd like to get some insight before doing so.

I've got a 41-TE so I'm not very familiar with the 5 speed cars, though I wish i had one. This is probably a stupid suggestion, but could this issue be power steering related? The shaking wheel has me wondering.

Good luck!

Interesting thought.. I've had the P0551 code on for over a year which is the power steering switch sensor (regulates rpm when steering at low speed). The idling was never rough for the whole year before the slave cylinder was replaced. I doubt it would be now, but I guess it's possible! Should probably get in there and clean that sensor out. Thanks for reply!

You're more than welcome to take this one off my hands! 85,000 miles! haha

Well, if you're donating it...

Yeah, I am not sure if it is P/S related. Is your fluid low/dark in color? Remember that these cars use ATF for some reason.
