Neither of these articles really talks much about the Dodge and Chrysler cars and the niches they fill. Where I live the Chrysler 300 is extremely popular as are the Dodge Chargers and Challengers. I had figured the Chrysler 300 would eventually become a Dodge model with "Chrysler" as part of the model name. But I would not have expected Fiat to completely end the Chrysler line all together. It will be very interesting and sad if this happens.

Many parts will be available for a long time in junkyards across the fruited plain.

More like graveled grease-covered plain, but I agree!

Looks like Chrysler has survived for now.

But their might be more to come. Here's some news articles:

I'm sad that this could mean that the 2019 Dodge Barracuda is threatened

Well see about this one. As the demand for raw materiel increases out side US salvage yards may be increasing the their output of recycled materials from vehicles in their yards.

The same mentioned vehicles as Handy described are as popular in Californian as well. But I think that those models sold well in most heavily populated states. Here you can't drive 2 block and not see one.
