Very sad.

He was a race car driver among other things. Pretty interesting guy. Sorry to see him go.

Not only did Sergio save Chrysler, he also saved many American jobs. Including updating factories, building transmission and engine plants, and investing in paint production lines. I didn't always agree with his decisions, but, it is always easier to criticize others than to make decisions yourself.

He deserved to be enjoying life on an island somewhere right now. Best wishes to his family and friends. I never met him, but I'll miss him.

This is kind of a related thread:

http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...ed-friday.html

Even though Sergio was going to leave Chrysler soon and retire, by his sudden death, Chrysler could die slowly on its own if they don't find the right person to head the company, and keep it going in the right direction that Sergio had it going.

And this just shows you how fragile life is. He wasn't that old and worked hard all his life. Then he goes in for a shoulder surgery and ends up dying a short time later.

Who could predict that demise. He missed all his retirement years to sit back, relax and enjoy his lifetime of hard work.

Nobody knows when their time will come, and nobody is guaranteed a tomorrow, so live for the now.

I believe that British guy, Manley, is going to be CEO now. He's been over Jeep and Ram for a long time. I just hope he keeps the Chargers, Challengers and Chrysler 300's going. Otherwise, I'm not going to know what to drive next time around.

You're right, Todd. According to some of what I read over at Allpar, Manley is the guy that Sergio wanted to take over in case of his demise. He must have seen it coming. It's my understanding that he had some type of aggressive cancer that they found when he went in for the shoulder surgery. We just never know. Live each day like there's no tomorrow because there just might not be.
