Re: History Channel: History of the Car

I have his defense. Your honor, he asked me to turn around. I couldn't. I drive a PT cruiser. I needed twice the available space in which to turn around. I didn't mean to hit him, but he said 'turn...

Re: P0171 - Is it Turbo Time?

Yes, I think you are right. When I wrote that I was thinking that the only way to get to the gasket was to take off the turbo. I just have to take off the lower heat shield. The "logic" of...

Re: Is my Car TURBO GT or TURBO LITE?

Its a turbo lite. It is designed to run on 87 octane. No need to spend more on fuel. You made the comment you weren't going to use the turbo. The turbo is in use all the time. The boost comes with...

P0171 - Is it Turbo Time?

2005 Turbo Lite Convertible. 140K miles. New water pump and timing belt and Daddy's been having fun with his toy until this. There's always an "until this". The P0171 code was thrown. 'Lean' meaning...

Re: Connectors missing hoses

Thanks, I think that's a possibility...I will look for a hard rubber doodad. It probably fell off and I didn't notice it. It was throwing me off because they're different diameters but they are close...

Connectors missing hoses

I'm working on a 2005 Turbo-lite. I'm putting it back together, but now I don't remember what connects to these fittings. I don't seem to have any hoses left over, lol.

Importance of Cold air?

My 05 turbo is new to me. It was about 25 degrees this morning. I believe the car performed much better. Cold air is denser, so if it was not my imagination, then what's the optimum outside air...

Re: Broke down 500 miles from home, water pump messed up. What should I replace?

Sorry to hear of your bad trip. Nitro got it right. The water pump doesn't make the car run hot. Based on my ownership of 3 PT's (yes, I like punishment), its the electric cooling fan than slows...

Re: Has anyone used a non-oem radiator on a Turbo?

Yep, I was looking for confirmation that the TYC radiator or equivalent could be used even though it does not have a removable inlet. Taking off the intake manifold is not bad. Sounds like I can...

Has anyone used a non-oem radiator on a Turbo?

I have a 2005 PT Touring Convertible Turbo (turbolite). This car is new to me, so I'm working out its defects. Coolant is seeping out the top radiator seam, and I don't believe radiator stop leak...

Smile Re: P0031 and P0037 - Indication of a bad PCM?

Well, after much consternation, I ordered the PCM from All Computer Resources. Only two days of use, but I can report the codes of P0031 and P0037 are gone. The idle is smoother, the slightly pulsing...

Question P0031 and P0037 - Indication of a bad PCM?

I'm new to the Turbo PT scene, but not new to PT's. I've recently acquired a 2005 PT Cruiser Touring Turbo Convertible. It has the following symptoms. After disconnecting the battery, no codes are...
