Re: Lowpt's new build

In addition to the battery, I also lowered the volume of the enclosure. I knew it was a little on the large side from the beginning. It banged on songs that are fairly low...

Re: Lowpt's new build

I have had a problem with voltage drop since the new equipment went in. I knew I needed to add a second battery to help with my power needs. I was planning on just adding a second Optima in the rear...

Re: Lowpt's new build

I took the cruiser to a show over the weekend. It was a combination car show and sound off. I entered the car show, as usual, but also decided to get it metered while there. I ended up with a 137.4...

Re: Lowpt's new build

You can bring any of my threads back up any time. I love the publicity! :)

Since I did the front doors first, they are a little different than the rears. While it is true that I lost the use of...

Re: Lowpt's new build

I decided to post these next few pics here instead of making a new thread. Mainly, because they are part of the recent updates to the car. These pics are of the window tint I have just had done. The...

Re: Lowpt's new build

Thanks guys!! There's something else I want to point out. This car is an '01 so the lower trim panels were all the dark taupe color, which is more like the color of the seat backs you see in the...

Re: Lowpt's new build

The thing to remember is the box is 1.8 cu.ft. which isn't big at all. It is bigger than I was shooting for though. My original figures had it at 1.4^3 ft. I used 1/2" mdf in part of the build and...

Re: Lowpt's new build

They are for the air suspension. They fill a storage tank under the car which holds the air for the rear bags and front struts.

Re: Lowpt's new build

I was able to get a day of work in on the car. I started out by transfering the cardboard shapes to some lauan. Then a test fit of the wood panels. Even though I made the holes for the speakers...

Re: Lowpt's new build

These compressors aren't that bad but, my old Thomas compressor was crazy loud. The compessors need air flow to cool. So, I'm not sure if I would trust putting them inside a box. Even though they...

Re: Lowpt's new build

LOL That is kinda the madness behind this build. It is to show you don't have to go crazy big with a box to get some very respectable bass. Notice the heighth in the pics. Not counting the...

I finally got most of the prep work done. So, I started on the box today. :D It has been a lot of measuring and trying things in different places in order to try and make this look better than just a...

Re: Lowpt's new build

LOL, really it's not. It was combining all the grounds from the solenoids and running them to chassis, running 8 power wires from each solenoid to the switchbox, wiring in two more relays for the...

Re: Lowpt's new build

Re: Lowpt's new build

Not too difficult. It is mostly just time consuming- measuring, soldering, running wire. I am not complete with mine. i still need to run the wire from the altenator to the battery. I seen your post...

Re: Lowpt's new build

I couldn't get a good side shot. Measuring to the outside of the grille, it is out about an inch more than the factory pocket. the grille is about 3/4" more than the speaker.

Re: Lowpt's new build

Part of the reason it has taken so long is, I wanted to paint them for some contrast. I didn't want to buy auto paint. I tried several different spray paints. I was not happy with any of them. I...
