Re: Power Chip

Well, I searched the internet (So you know it has to be true, right?) and I found that there is some "power" to be had from chips.....

Quote from 'Net:
"In the past, cow chips were burned and...

Re: Raised White Letters on 16 inch tires

One of the big reasons the white letter availability is mostly limited to 15 inchers is the height of the sidewall. 17" for sure has too little space between the rim and the pavement to pull it off....

Re: New PT Owner Turbo Questions

True dat!
The "advertised" horse power is rated at the crank, not the wheels, so going with a GT PCM should net you about 190+/- at the pavement or on a dyno. A better plan would be to forget the GT...

Re: Chrome-Painted PT: would I be crazy?

The sun reflection is not just a hazard to other drivers, the sun can reflect off the hood and blind the driver of the chrome car too. Back in the day before advertising was slapped on every square...

Re: Can an '04 Pull A Trailer?

Do a Google search for "PT Cruiser trailer images" to get some ideas of the possibilities. All trailers that I know of have an extended tongue that sets the compartment back more than far enough that...

Re: Anybody ever seen a 2 seater PT?

This thread has cast its net fairly wide and included pick up truck conversions among the "2-seaters". No complaints from me, I've always liked the concept and have been a fan. Here's one of my...

Re: Interchangeability between old front bumper and late style??

The '02 Dream Cruisers (the gold ones) could have started the production run with the non-turbo style front fascia, then at some point in the year switched to the style that was going to be used...

Re: Random Blogger Explains Why PT Cruisers Should Be Purged From World

Why is this 8/9 year old thread being revived? Have the original bloggers been released into the general public again or something? Are they still a danger to common sense?

Re: Cheap way to replace tan leather electrical seat adjustment panel

The cheapest, convenient way is to look here and online for someone parting out a Cruiser. Also cheap but less convenient is scrap yard foraging in you local area. Those options are depending...

Re: low oil pressure after warm up

As I recall, the Cruiser does seem to have a slightly lower pressure than I'm normally comfortable with. I like to see 30psi +/- warmed up but not with Cruisers it seems, especially at the head. 1 to...

Re: Rain rain go away

Hopefully it's not the timing belt but the accessory drive belt that everyone seems to be talking about. That's an easier fix.

Those used to be called "rally badges" (among other names, I'm sure) way back in the day. They were originally given out if you DROVE in a particular road rally,...

Re: Off-the-shelf functional roll bar?

If the question was "Which would you pick to rollover in, a hard top or a convertible?", nobody wants to rollover in a convertible, that's true. But putting a roll bar in a convertible sort of...

Re: Turbo air intake hose cracking

You have to look at it as a system with many parts. The more your turbo flops around compared to the body mounted airbox, the more flexibility you need in the pipes connecting the two. The factory...

Re: Turbo air intake hose cracking

Mine never had a chance to get old and brittle. I replaced mine early on with some silicon elbows, hard tubing and rubber grommet(s) for the small hoses fittings. I did it to get rid of the pleated...

Re: Is the turbo engine non-interference?

For daily driving, week end cruisin' and playing "Tag! You're it!" from the stop lights, the torque numbers are what puts you back in the seat. The base Cruiser has a nice helping of torque for a...

Re: White smoke on startup

Another possibility is the seals in the turbo bearing are worn and when the Cruiser is shut down for a while, some oil drips into the exhaust side of the turbo. Then, on start up, you get the fog...

Re: Will I be OK ?

Your 215/45-17 is a slightly shorter (less diameter) size than stock. The 225/45-17 is an identical diameter to the original factory tires so that's well and good. The 225 aspect width will be fine...

Re: Smooth Front bumpers

Just to be sure we're covering the right bases, the OP may be asking about the PTeazer front fascias.

For stock bumper fascias, the base, non-turbo Cruisers had the divots recessed in the outer...

Re: Rear Cigar Lighter/12V socket installation?

The sockets are probably engineered for lighter duty and not so much for accessories that draw a lot of power over a long time. That could explain the signs of high heat and burning. I believe I...

Re: RPM moving

I do see the one little drop in RPM at 44sec but the rest of the small changes of 10 RPM or less seems normal to me. A vac leak would send the RPM up fairly high and I don't see that. What I do see...
