I understand as I started working on cars in the 60's myself. I wish I could rely on simplicity as you do but I rely on some of the proofing systems as I am deaf and can't hear the warnings of engine...

Airtex or BWD brand is recommended by Certified Mechanics but do some homework to verify. The brands keep changing where they manufacture their products.

I would suggest diagnosing to find out why the oil pressure sending unit is not making a difference.

Other members have cracked the replacement oil sending unit by over torqueing it when installing it. No leaks?

Checked the port for oil blockage before installing the new oil sending unit?

What brand oil sending unit did you purchase?

Did you use the special tool to install the oil sending unit?

Did you check the oil sending unit wiring from the engine to the PCM? Some members...

I would suggest thinking about increasing the amount of liability and property damages. With the value of cars going up and the cost of medical surgeries increasing it's a peace of mind not to worry...
