Re: my red PT

Your Cruiser has a very nice, "clean" look. The pin stripe material I used was the typical 1/4" wide vinyl stuff, somewhat flexible. The chrome tape you used, was the material stiff or flexible?

Re: my red PT

Awww, what a cute little 'gator. They're not so cute when they get big. :)

The last couple of days I was starting the pin stripe project. Almost 20 years ago, I had added a simple red pin stripe...

Re: my red PT

"The Spare That Wouldn't Hold Air" So I took the spare to a repair & tire shop I usually deal with. It's the standard "donut" spare, stamped steel wheel, drop center, safety bead. I'ts a freakin'...

Re: my red PT

Not too much today, did more yard work. Checked all the car's spare tires for pressure (it's a spring & fall thing for me). The red PT's spare was flat when I got it and I aired it up then. It's...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Addendum to above post.

Whenever I encounter a Tinnerman (clip-on) nut, I'll coat it and the screw with oil before reassembly. They're usually black-phosphate steel (I think) and not overly...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Cleaned the "dirty little nooks" on my silver PT. I just did this on http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/members-pt-project/67187-my-red-pt-4.html and noticed it's been five years since I did it on...

Re: How to wash your hands

The bags as a one use disposable glove is a good tip. I've done about the same. Gave up touching any communal stuff at work; coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave. Although I only have to go into...

Re: How to wash your hands

Thanks for the hand washing guide. "...yet no one describes how to do it properly." That's the truth. I've incorporated the hand washing guide as best as I can into my hand washing routine.

At...

Re: my red PT

I'll call today's project "The PT's dirty little nook". I removed, more like peeled back, the driver's side front fender liner. I was plesantly surprized that none of the 20 year old fasteners...

Re: my red PT

Just a little cleaning today. I want to savor the success of the airbag repair a bit before tackling the next major project. Yesterday, while it was raining lightly, the grimy engine vanity cover...

Re: my red PT

It's a slow, rainy day here. My wife is currently browsing some memes. My daughter, now back home, a bit restless. Stay safe.

I did find a simple project to start yesterday while working on the...

Re: my red PT

Well, I think I finally got the airbag problem fixed. I was pretty sure it was the connector. So I took the connector apart last night and tweaked the contacts to ensure connection. NOPE, cleared...

Re: my red PT

This weekend's update.

As an aside, there's a lot of upheaval going on currently, far far more than I have ever seen. On one hand, it seems frivolous to be going on about a car. On the other...

Re: my red PT

So here we are in 2020, and my car is nagging me about being protected in a side impact. My, how times have changed. In the late 1970's I owned a 1968 International Harvester Scout. I have to say,...

Re: my red PT

Today's adventures included replacing the multifunction switch and starting to troubleshoot the air bag light.

The multifunction switch was the "usual suspect" since the fog light fuse had been...

Re: my red PT

Just a few odds & ends today.

Replaced the rear wiper arm. The old one was pretty grody. I had made a simple wiper arm puller to remove the driver's front wiper arm earlier. It's just a strap...

Re: my red PT

Saturday night I noticed the cargo light was out in the rear... So Sunday morning, time to fix the cargo light. As Roseann Rosannadanna would say "It's always something". How do you get this darn...

An old thread, but helpful. It popped up when I Googled "replace rear cargo lamp PT Cruiser". Nice to see our forum pop up on search engines!

Re: my red PT

Saturday morning's project, which drifted into Saturday afternoon, took a bit out of me.

Sway bar bushings, ugh. Got on the first bolt, it didn't budge, I knew it was going to snap. Got on the...

Re: Long time, no see ...

I knew it was a buy, but at (per Google: 100 Euro equals 112.86 United States Dollar), it's a steal. Wow! The change you'd be saving can pay for the flatbed and a lot of repairs. Good luck.

Re: my red PT

Sunday, just a quick little project before I go off for breakfast with my brother. Drill some holes in the dipstick. I got in this habit after noticing how handy the holes were in my wife's Ford...
