opted to get a RS232 serial reader instead of the ones with display that are sure to be extremely limited.

finally got the reader. $15 for a "elm327" that when i opened does NOT have an elm chip,...

i couldn't book a mechanic here yet so i took a look myself yesterday. the oil stick was dry!


i put in 1qt of 20w-50 or something like that that is thicker than required just to not let it dry...

OK, i misread the getting codes thread the first time. i had to turn the key 3 times , not 2.

after doing it correctly i get:

still no errors. would the code reader show...

Wife said the car made a noise, she parked and when turning it on again the 'faucet light' was on. Faucet light was the check engine...

I pressed the reset trip button while turning the key to acc...

Nah, they are fine. Well, they are better than nothing to signal to her when the tires are bad. And I had them on the bimmer, which i use once every year. didn't have to fill those tires since i last...

Already put those :-) but it has a serious design flaw... you have to look at the tires direction... if she cant see a flat, she cant see a red dot on the steam :-(

Lol. At my other car forum everyone is like "if you drop the engine it will be a breeze. I usually do it before breakfast every saturday" and other pearls :-)

Wife usually runs with the tires empty for days before she notices...

our 2006 touring does not have the sensor, but the light is there on the dash.

Is it easy to add the sensor? Anyone done...

We should be able to test drive tires. The difference is $60 to $200.

There's least some neww official ratings regarding thread life (utqg), but nothing official for silence.

looking for new tires and my main requirement for now is silence :)

that car is damn noisy, and i drive it in all-year summer conditions with low speeds, so i guess i should focus on noise alone....

I noticed that the 1st 2 or 3 days my mpg took a hit on low speed street drive. From 15 to 12!

Now its stable at 17.

Highway jumped from 20 to 23.

I only ordered the valve. as the hose was perfect... but i did the job Sunday. should have ordered the hose if I found that for sale before.

Everyone saying they use sealant on this valve. DO NOT!...
