Default 2002 PT w/AM FM CD & FM no Sound

My PT radio, factory, the FM just doesn't work anymore. For a while, it came on after 5 to 10 minutes of cooling down in the TX heat, AC, then it worked fine. Now, no FM whatever. Got AM, and CD, but FM, seek, ok, no Volume on FM. Anybody else ever had an FM die only? Looks like the easiest fix is to replace the radio, unless someone got an idea? Im open.

This is going to sound goofy, but give it a try since it doesn't cost anything.

Try readjusting the stearing wheel angle. I was loosing the readout on the radio/CD - it would flicker on and off. I messed with the stearing wheel and it's been working fine since. Maybe this will work for your issue as well.

Do yourself a favor and grab a head unit with a jack 1/8" input.

It's unbelievable how it can be useful.

Ok...not really unbelievable but it's certainly very useful.

I found your thread while trying to research if there have been any recalls on the CD and radio in my 2001 PT Cruiser. The CD option is to use a 10 disc player under my seat, or the single CD player in the dashoard. In my case, I suspect dirt or a malfunctioning mechanical tray in my dash board CD player. The radio only works first thing in the morning when it is very cold. Once I turn off the engine and restart, the radio will not play and you can hear the CD player grinding away trying to find a CD (none is in the tray). The CD player, of course, has an automatic interrupt of the radio, and I suspect it is triggering a false interrupt. The cold make it sluggish enough for the radio to come on first and turn off the CD player. My patience, however, has worn out and I'm ready to hit it with a sledge hammer. I found nothing so far on recalls.
