radio help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default radio help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a 2008 PT the other day and I put a radio in it and it 2worked fine until last night. I truned the car off and went in for the night. I got up this morning and the car would not start. I looked everywere and then my wife said the radio was still on. The radio has not done this for the past few day.

would the interface be bad it in?
I cant figure it ou to save my life. I have installed radios in every car I have had and this one is beating me up.

You might have the wrong year adapter. There are a couple of Chrysler adapters that only are year specific 2001-2005 and then 2006 +
Sounds like the constant 12v wire is mixed with the ingnition on wire on the adapter.
Hence the radio will stay on without starting the car I would check the adapter (interface) year.
+12volt Ignition = NONE some 2006+ don't have an Ignition wire, they get their power from the data bus....aftermarket radios must not attach to that power source and must have a separate wire run to the fusebox for an Ignition signal.
+12volt Memory = Red
Ground = Black
Just my 2 cents I may be right or wrong but check anyway.

Similar question - is your head unit an after-market or a Chrysler unit, and if Chrysler, is it the correct year?

You can pull the ignition and use it for your radio, but with the CAN buss system, it stays on unless you turn the radio off. That is, if you have an after-market head unit. I just had a $60 control module installed in my PT about two months ago that allows me to interface any head unit with my '06, simply because I got tired of all the issues I had wrapped around using the ignition circuits.
