I wasn't brave enough and just settled for doing a 1 DIN with an EQ under.

Anywayz, looks like a job well done and way cool mod worthy of the coveted Fro Award for going above and beyond the cool factor.

Thanks
Yours looks great as well.
The install portion of the radio is very simple. Cut out some of the structure inside mounting cage and radio slides in with ease.

I have been turned away from two shops here in Pensacola. Both saying they would have to make a custom fiberglass bezel and that the cost would be ridiculous. Other than the cut out and stereo, what additional parts were needed to secure the stereo in place and hook up? BTW that looks great!

I have brackets we make to install a double din unit into a car. Its super simple with these.

Other than that some cutting of the mounting cage and your done.
Besides the time I had into making the bezel it took me about 20 minutes total to cut out the supports in the cage and mount the radio to correct position

Are these available and what all come with it other than the bezel? 260 bucks just seems like a lot for just a bezel.

That came out wrong. I'm not meaning it to sound disrespectful! I've been up and working 57 hours straight.
Would you advise to buy this for a double din install or something else? Here's my dilemma ... I want a radio that has a usb port (for my harddrive), bluetooth for phone capabilities, and preamps for an aftermarket amp to upgrade myself speakers. I have a 7" tablet that I watch movies on when I'm at work (when I can) so the bluetooth would allow it to play sound through the cars audio. Or would you just go with a double din? ALL input is welcome.

I would but I still don't know what I wanna do. Double din or single din and just run soundbthrough bluetooth. If I go double then I'll definitely hit em up.

Pappasmurf: I recently installed a single-DIN Pioneer DEH-X9500BHS and really like it. It seems to fit many of the requirements you listed: it has two USB ports (on the back, includes a USB extension cable), BlueTooth streaming and line and preamp outs.

Of course it comes down to what you want to spend. I'm not knocking DoubleDMods at all, because I think that double-DIN install is freaking beautiful! I am envious and if I had the money I'd probably do it. However, for not much more than the cost of that kit alone I got my receiver and a Mopar sub.

Nilla,
yeah I do like double d's mod but don't have the money to pay to play. I'm leaning more towards a single din like the JVC BT500 (I think that's what it is), but haven't been able to save enough with all the bills coming at once. I guess imma have to wait awhile.

Hello and sorry to be so late getting to the party. Would like to install the double din into my 2005 cruiser, if I'm reading all this right all I have to do is:

1. Buy double din convertion kit from DoubleD mods
2. Remove stock radio
3. Cut out metal support inside dash
4. install double din unit
5. Enjoy

Thanks for clearing this up!
