Default Kaolin Parade and Car Show, Oct 8th

Please make plans to join us for the Kaolin Parade and Car Show in beautiful downtown Sandersville, GA. This is the major event of the year for Sandersville. We are invited to have ALL PT Cruisers in their parade and afterwards in a local PT car show. Cars wanting to be in the parade should be lined up by 9 am at the staging area, Sandersville Elementary School, 514 N. Harris St. The show will be at Dorman Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, 724 S. Harris St. Cars not wanting to participate in the parade (where you will be seen by as many as 20,000 folks) can go on to the dealer and should be there by 11:30 am. Cars in the parade will split off before the end of the parade and go to the dealership.

Ronnie Dorman, owner of the dealership is really enthused about the event. He is furnishing wooden picture plaques for all participants, hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks for lunch. Awards will incude:

Best of Show
Best Tailgate Display
Best Paint/ Murals/ & Graphics
Furthest Travelled
Top 3 Stock (no more than 3 mods)
Top 3 Mild Mods (3-6 mods)
Top 3 Wild Mods (more than 6 mods)

We will set a time for judging, and the 50/50 drawing. There will be goodie bags for participants, a raffle for goods/and or services, and a 50/50 drawing, with all proceeds going to The American Cancer Society. This could be an Annual Event, according to participation.

Here is the event registration form "http://ga.ptcruiserclub.org/georgia/KaolinCarShow.pdf". The downtown event will include a LARGE Arts & Crafts Show, Antique show and sale, and food booths. Rick Jones is working on transportation to the square if anyone wants to do that during the car show. Some of the ladies have shown an interest in doing that. He has also booked a block of 30 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, 508 S. Harris St. Sandersville, GA 31082 - phone 478-553-1414. The special rate is $61.00 + tax. (reg $75.00). These will be held until Sept 1, 2005. Mention PT Cruiser Rate. They will furnish a clean-up area for cars. There are several restaurants & fast food joints within walking distance of the motel, including Zaxby’s, Wendy’s, Subway, McDonalds, Capt Ds, & Pizza Hut. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society, including the 50/50 drawing, and registration fees.

Bring your car flags. We especially want to see them on every car in the parade. Registration is $15 per car. On Friday night, we will have a meet and greet at Theresa's Mexican Restaurant in Tennille GA (3 miles from Sandersville). Their menu is varied, and includes many other items besides Mexican fare. They will have a special section set up for us, we are working on special drink prices. More details to follow.

The registrations are rolling in now and Rick has 15 so far. The hotel has lots of room but after today, the guarantee goes away.

Groovular! It's gonna be a lot of fun! Rick and Barbara have worked their butts off to make this a memorable event. And Ronnie Dorman has pulled out all the stops at his dealership! See you there!!!!

My family and I will now have to cancel. I got rear-ended on the way to work this morning. No injuries. I was the meat in the sandwich. I saw the guy skidding towards me in my rear view mirror. Tried to get out of the way, but had no where to go. Rear right bumper smashed in, Bottom of rear hatch edge has a small bend. Front bumper appears to be not dented but severally scratched. Getting it looked at today by other drivers insurance (Allstate) and a local body shop. Wish we could be ther. We were looking forward to this one. It seems the smaller get togethers are alot more fun to me.
