Default Couple of questions

Is there a good synthetic fluid for the tranny that everyone prefers? I'm gonna have the PT down for the weekend while I replace the cooling fan & thought it might be prudent to service it while I'm already in repair & maintenance mode. It hit 111K & i figure synthetic would be best to ensure it lasts for a while longer, but would like to know what others are using.

Has anyone done a DIY install of the Energy polyurethane bushings on their PT? Did you like the improvement if you did? How difficult was it to do? I figure the suspension will be the next thing to upgrade & redo so I can keep her around a good while longer. Over the winter with it being cold, I noticed my stock bushings have developed some age/mileage issues & were squeeking. They defenetly need to be replace in the near future.

Agree. Chrysler recommends ONLY ATF+4 in the transaxle or the newer Synthetic (I believe it's ATF+5). That's what I used in mine for the last flush.

You can pick up the ATF+4 at auto stores but make sure it says so on the container.

If I don't have time, I may call the local dealer then & see what they charge. Heck they only charged me $9 bucks for an oil change. That's their normal price for one. They might have a good deal on doing the tranny too.

I paid about $200 for an auto tranny flush.
