Has anyone here tried the Pacesetter Monza dual outlet catback system? If so, how well does it clear the spare tire? I know Pacesetter has had some quality problems in the past (I have one of their systems on my 98 Neon R/T), but they sound good and the price seems pretty good too.

I don't know about the Pacesetter system...but I have the PT-Tuning dual catback system. It too is all mandrel-bent stainless steel, aircraft quality materials. The spare is easy to remove.

CTFrank,
I know I answered you via email, but for everybody else: The PaceSetter duals (or single)cat-back system runs only $178.00 whereas the dual setup from PT-Tuning is $676.00 Quite a difference. I bought the PaceSetter Single and the fit and finish were fine. The only problem is that it's a little loud. JC Whitney only shows a picture of the PaceSetter system on the ground not on the car and looking at the picture it doesn't look like the dual setup would clear the spare tire. Whitney does have a good refund policy though if your not completely satisfied....I sould like a salesperson but really only trying to be helpful. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> CREWZIN |

Thanks for the replys. Right now I'm trying to decide between the low end Pacesetter system, the mid priced Scottsdale system and the higher end PT-Tuning system.

Is the Pacesetter system or PT Tuning systems stainless steel? I bought the Borla Cat-Back system. Very pleased with the sound, installation, and performance. |

Big Kahuna,
The PaceSetter system from JC Whitney says: 16-guage mandrel-bent tubing constructed of corrosion-resistant aluminized steel and chrome-plated Monza exhaust tips. Black painted finish. I am smelling some of the painted surface burn away but the smell is going away the longer I drive the car. Only put the system on about a week ago. :-) CREWZIN |

I had some of that burning smell after I first put my Borlas on. It has gone away after 2 weeks. It does sound a bit deeper resonating sound than it did at first... (love that mellow sound)
Keep us informed of how you like your exhaust as time goes by... My only complaint about the Borla system... the passenger side pipe is a bit low back by the rear axel.. |

I bought the pacesetter duels and I sent it back. The system did not
fit well,no access for the spare, too loud and the pipes exit the rear right in the middle of the pt. I quess you get what you pay for. oh yeah it's a heavy exhaust. I hope this info helps. |
