Default INSTALLING COIL SPRING PROBLEM

Installing new coil springs and shocks on the front end of the Panel Cruiser.
Getting my first taste of compressing springs and removing.

Installing a set of Monroe shocks with the H&R Lowering Springs.
All parts back together...EXCPET!!!
CAN"T GET THE WHEEL BOLTS TO LINE UP WITH THE SHOCK ASSEMBLY.
It looks like the shocks need to be compressed and inch to inch and a half to line up.

I know that the videos on it talk about using a crow bar to align and get the bolts in.
But, this shock just doesn't want to give upwards.

Perplexed here!.

Not familiar with the lowering springs that you mention, but are they seated properly on the strut?

Replaced the front struts on my PT several years ago with the fully assembled Monroe Quick struts. Saved from having to mess with a spring compressing tool. They fit perfectly.

See my answer in another thread.

Turns out, as I loosened the compressors, I was allowing the shaft and top strut bearing to drift significantly off center.
Just didn't notice it the first 2 times.
