Has anyone tried this yet? Or at least have comments. I've already installed a Whipple supercharger system, Borla header and dual exhaust. It runs strong but I'm always looking for a little more. I'm sure everyone knows where I'm coming from......<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

From what I've read ..a supercharger adds another 50+hp to a PT Cruiser's 150 factory hp. That's a substantial increase! There are turbos that also increase hp dramatically, too..but you can only take them so far without modifying internal components. Get em up to 250hp or more and I've heard that you're risking breaking something. I've known people who've installed nitrous, and nothing more, mis-dialed the power, and blew thier (4 cylinder) engines sky high. This is mostly from Japanese and import drag racers..but still. I could be wrong, but I think I'd be careful about adding both, a supercharger and nitrous to your PT, without considering stronger internal components. I'd like to hear an opinion on the subject from someone whose tried these systems, too. I would love to supercharge my PT..but for the cost, I wouldn't want to take it so far that it's not going to be reliable.

I have never run nitrous on my own cars as the botle is for cry babbies. but have installed several systems. the general rule is to yse common sense(no it is not all that common). dont try to get all your power from the bottle but top it off with it. unles you have built your motor for it, such as a special purpose drag car, you will want to get the blk of your power from the blower. I have run blowers on all my race cars but of the roots design so this will be my first attempt to tune a twin screw compresor. But it is very easy to overdrive a roots blower to ad power. I might call the maker of your blower to see if the have another pully to overdrive it. The kits you by are usualy an attempt to be smog legal so the dont ship the pully you need to make the best power.
