3 inch exhaust systems is a bad idea on most small displacement engines primarily street or occasional drag racing vehicle. They will cool the exhaust to fast after the head exhaust port.
Mandrel bends help reduce the exhaust flow reduction loss when comparing a none mandrel formed pipe but any bend even by a small degree are power reducing because of loss in exhaust flow velocity.

Straighter exhaust systems are always a better way to go.

Does any one know where to get a down pipe for 2006 2.4 turbo PT Cruiser?
I live in a state that doesn't do the sniff test? And can eliminate the cat converter.

THANKS

Same here in Arkansas.

In the older links on this forum, there's lot's of great stuff from many performance guys that used to be into the PT Cruiser back when it was at the height of popularity. There are several reports that the stainless steel down pipes sold on eBay are pretty good for what they are. And some of these down pipes already have the extra port for a wide band sensor if you need one. Based on the reports from these former members, they are likely not a bad deal.

Yes ..older reports (which we all know were very biased about a lot of things) from people or companies that were never tested on any DYNO and simply were information from those that bought them which I call extensions of information from the manufactures advertisements at the time.

Unless you do some good fact finding information about exhaust systems or talk to someone that builds and test performance exhaust you are at the mercy of people that buy stuff and don't really know any better or what the ad would have you you believe about their product.

Why is this so hard to grasp that many manufactures are out to get your money and through clever advertising can make you believe wondrous things about their products!

This is why most ALL after market manufactures of performance muffler will not give flow numbers and if you ask most don't even have or know the information. So why would anyone install a performance muffler that has less flow than a stock muffler other than the sound it makes?

Exhaust is so simple you simply K.I.S.S. and think!
