Default 17x9 wheels

Now that I have lowered my car on spring springs I'm looking to get some new wheels. A friend of mine is selling some 17x9's. I know the stock wheels are 17x6's and I'm worried that if I go with 3 inchs wider wheel that they will be sticking out from the fender, which I don't want.

Does anyone have some 9 inch wide wheels on their car or does anyone have any pictures of a 9 inch wide wheel on a pt? I know offset has a lot to do with fitment but I would just like to see any 9" wheel on a pt.

I bought some 17 x 8 and they are fine, there's plenty of room in the fenders.

What size are the LM reps, and how low is your drop?

They are 18x8 +35 and they have 225/40 tires on them. I put them up on my car and it looked pretty good but 40 is not enough tire for me. If I put them on my car I would want at least a 45, maybe even a 50.

You cannot simply put a 45 or 50 tyre on the wheel cause it will ofsett your speedometer and your ABS. On a 18" should be a 225/40 tyre. (Period)

That's a difference of 2 mm diameter overal, doesn 't matter. But if he uses 225/45 or 50 the difference will be noticeable. And if he goes for 205/45 the tyre will not show more rubber but will stretch.

Yeah, I didn't think of my speedo and ABS not working correctly, though have had done that on a previous car. I would want to stretch tires for sure! But not too much.

The abs will function fine but the speedo is another matter as you said Teska.
