Default 2003 GT PT Tire and Wheel ideas

I am trying to come up with a good all around tire .
I live in northern climates and would consider running both winter and summer types. I hope to store the car but you never know

Restoring classics as an avocation I've met with many temptations to increase tire size for the sake of looks or handling. In most cases I found the best tire size is one close to original specs. You can achieve a lot more with tire pressure adjustment and experimentation, enhancing or tweaking the suspension. You could always consider directional radial tires. That worked well on tweaking a bit more handling on my first generation Miata.

Always keep in mind your driving a PT, a great, comfortable road car but with front wheel drive. It's fun and forgiving to drive, but it's not a road racer.

SOOO BIG's 16" Cooper touring tires are nearly stock in size and specification but they do me well on handling, stopping and wear.

Some of my earlier efforts came originally with bias tires. Just replacing them with a proper quality radial tire did worlds of good for handling. But that was another day and time so I'm a bit behind the times for now a day.

I've found the stock PT touring suspension like I have on SOOO BIG is set up with it's great "feel of the road suspension" and the tighter turning radius. To me it's the most pleasing stock PT suspension set up with tires close to stock size but of good quality.

Choose you horse before you pick a saddle.

Happy Ptin', ptprice
