Pull the camshaft sensor off the end of the head. It is on the drivers side and easy to get too. Then have somebody crank it and look in the hole and see if the magnet is turning. If it is not turning then the belt broke.

If belt is good can it be that camshaft sensor is gone, its been threatening to go for over a year now and module says it was going?

"threatening to go for over a year" ? What are you waiting for, change it!

BTW: What module? The only thing that should say that it's "going" is the fault code...like P0340.

Yes that was my error.....when the engine started hopping Id shut it down which i think reset and it would run fine......but i would imagine to diagnose the problem I will replace that first while i have it off ill check to see that magnet is spinning to rule out that the timing belt possibility....is there anythjing else it could be such as a fuse or some other possible issue?

Most things, including a fuse, will set off the engine fault light. Is your ON? If it is, pull the fault codes and let the computer help you find the fault.

When you change the Camshaft sensor, do so with a genuine MOPAR sensor. Aftermarket sensor either don't work or if they do will fail shortly after.

There's a cover for the belt on top of the engine just left of the oil fill cap.
