Question Ignition

Hello from PA..
I have a 2006 PT Cruiser, and amm experiencing Ignition problems. It doesn't want to start, when I turn the key. I keep trying, and it will finally turn over and start. I'm scared of getting stuck, somewhere, and it won't start for mem
Is there an Emergency way, to bypass the ignition, if it fails to start for me.
Please help me out,due to financial products, I cannot replace right now.
Bypass ignition ( emergency )??

Welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!

Is your check engine light on? And if so, have you read the trouble codes? Those codes can tell us a lot. An OBDII code reader is best for this. But if you don't have one, you can use the "Key Dance" method in this link:

And if you are interested in getting a code reader, here's some links on inexpensive models that will do enough for most folks:

When you say "won't start" do you mean it won't turn-over or the starter engagaes and motor turns-over but will not start? If it won't turn over, I'd do as handy suggested and see if you got any codes through the key dance and make note of them, then I'd give the battery cables/posts a good look over and clean if you see visible corrossion.

I would suggest a battery load test to make sure your charging system is okay.

Question Re: Ign

Hello again,
It was put under a load test, and came up 79%, while starting it. It's charging properly, and, it all checked out fine.
It gave me alot of trouble today, starting, and is getting worse.
Any way, I can bypass the ignition from under the hood, to start it, with the key turned on?

Sorry to sound skeptical, but a new member asking how to bypass the ignition, I think any advice should be cautiously given

Sorry if you're offended, but the PT has certain security features built into it to prevent exactly what you are trying to do.

Nobody on this forum knows you, or your intentions.
