My was built in 08/05..but it is a 2006.
You can Google 2005 & 2006 Pt Cruisers, you will see the difference in the front end...headlights & grill. Your interior would also be a lot different.
So, unless someone replaced your entire front end, that can't be a 2005.
The rims are pre 2006 though...I guess if you can post a pic of your dashboard or seats...we would know for sure.

Just trying to help you figure out what year your PT might really be.

Yeah, it's a Gen2 manufactured in late 2005 and is considered a 2006 model on this side of the pond.

Had a look at the build sheet and it's very interesting. On my UK logbook, it states that it was registered on the 11th of November 2005, yet on the build sheet it says 2006.

Not sure but hopefully this comes through

The US model year does not follow the calendar year.
Something to do with the "New Models" and the introduction at auto shows or some other marketing scheme.

The following off topic video is replete with profanity - enter at your own discretion!

By the way, if anyone here is in marketing or advertising...kill yourself. Thank you. Just planting seeds, planting seeds is all I'm doing. No joke here, really. Seriously, kill yourself, you have no rationalisation for what you do, you are Satan's little helpers. Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself now.

The British system does follow the calender. Much more honest in my thought.

But as some Limey has stated "A rose by any other name...."

In the US, the new car models are introduced during the previous calendar year.

You've got what is known as a Generation 2 PT ('06-'10), I hope you really didn't want a Generation 1 ('01-'05) as there are quite a few differences between the 2 generations of PT's

I called my local dealership with your VIN and the birthdate of your PT is 09/07/05.

I'd love to hear about any tips from you all. I live in the UK, just outside London
Welcome mate, from the other side of London originally, now living in Germany.

It's a G2 like they say, same colour as mine but mines a diesel manual.

In all honesty... I'd go for a G2 over a G1 for usability - not much in it but stuff like reading the speedometer shouldn't be a hobby as it is in the G1. (I own one of each before anyone starts on me )
