I have been a member for a number of years but have never posted before.
My wife and I were given a PT Cruiser for a 1 week rental 12 years ago and have been hooked ever since. I have owned 8 cruisers since then. 7 of them were insurance write-offs, 5 I rebuilt and 2 were scrapped for parts. Most were driven for at least a year before being sold. All except 1 were 1st generation NA's.
Currently (about 6 yrs) we drive a 2004 Touring Turbo with only 106,000 mi. I've installed 01 rims, sway bar, heated mirrors and cargo net. 04 GT heated leather seats, pedals, shift knob and front sill plates. I made custom 2 tone door panels and rear door sill plates. Oh yeah, I also installed an 05 composite intake manifold and Stage 1 computer.
This awesome forum has been an invaluable source of information.

Thumbs up Re: New/Old Member

Welcome to the Club!

I too drive a 2004 Touring, (been driving it for eight years now) and it's my favorite car out the twenty or so very nice cars I have owned over the years (including much more modern vehicles costing 40-100K!).

It recently needed a new engine computer installed (was throwing various spurious codes), and opted to have the Stage 1 tune installed in my remanufactured McKee unit. I can really feel that extra 40 HP!

Welcome. I also drive an 04 Touring stick, three years now. My sister in law racked up 250,000 miles on it before a coolant leak sidelined it for four years. Then my brother asked me "do junk yards pick up?" So I bought it for a bit over salvage. Replaced a $30 part and drove it home. note: Told my brother about the part prior to buying, guess he didn't believe me.
There's been many repairs since but parts are cheap and my labor is free.
It's a good car but can't say it's my favorite car. Favorite car is my 89 Supreme International. Built before GM started to build crap.
