Been asking around about tire sizes. Would a 245-40-18 tire fit on the REAR of a 2002 pt base model, without modifying anything? Any rub on the fenders or wheelwell? I've been getting mixed replies, and the more I ask, the more tire possibilities I get! Wheels are Coddington smoothies, 18x8, offset is 6.125.[xx(]

Contact Boyd Coddington directly since they own a PT Panel w/ 18s of their own design riding all four corners.

Already contacted Boyd Coddington about those tire sizes, but the person I talked to said he really didnt know, they left it to a third party to fit the tires. However, BC gave me a good contact for lugs...

I also contacted Coddington, they must have great business because customers service is NOT their strong point. I told them repeatedly that a vendor (I won't say who it was) was advertising his wheels for the 2003 Gt Turbo. I heard somewhere they would not fit the GT, which is why I called them. (who wants to order $1400 rims only to find they don't work) anyway, Coddington said they would not fit the GT. So I called the vendor back and told them what I was told and they have since put a foot note on their site stating they won't fit the GT. Coddington also said they could make that wheel fit if they custom made it, which would cost twice as much as it does now. I wish I could find another wheel like that one for the GT>

Hey Turboman, I've heared about several wheels out there that will fit all cruisers but a GT. Did Coddington give a reason why they wouldn't fit a turbo? I think I've heared a few explanations about a "blower" that compromises the front wheel well, or something like that... And just curious, who was the vendor; does it rhyme with Bruce Springsteen's nickname?[
