Smoothie Chrome Wheels on a 2003 GT

This question is for all those that have gone before me...

Has anyone put the Smoothie Chrome wheels on a GT?

All the info I see say, "not for GT". I assume this is a brake rotor clearance issue?

Have I seen a comment that spacers will solve this issue?

I believe there are a few guys on this board with smoothies. I think Basseshound cruiser has em and some one else who's name evades me right now.

Nobody on the board yet has them on the turbo though. Bassethound has a non turbo, as does the other gent. with an inferno red setup.
My guess isn't brake rotors as much as the calipers themselves. They make 16" chrome smoothies but again list them "not for GT" but I would guess that's due to the increased thickness (~2mmish? more on the outside face) of the caliper versus the N/A's caliper. With the correct spacer I think you may be able to run them?

I just get solid information that Coddington Wheels are now being offered for the Turbo to compensate for the calipers offset. real expensive though, like almost $400 each. I love the wheels, but I will wait at that price. gary

Yup, to expensive. I'd prefer to stay in the $200 or less range.

So far it looks as though there are no turbo cars with Smoothies.

I talked to revel and they said although they did not update their web site, they are getting in smoothies for the GT. I have not talked to anyone with them on yet though. If I win the lotto, that my wheel.

Yea there my dream wheels too but I don't have th gt just the limited but I thought I read were revel is offering 17" smoothies?

You guys are right. My ride is not a turbo.

The Boys Cottington wheels are called smoothies, but thay are not the "old style" smoothies. Actually they are a five spoke design.

I'm sure that someone will come out with one that will fit a GT.[8)]
