Thanks for the tip! I tried the weather stripping before as well to no avail (it's the front left that clicks for me) and had all but given up with the hubcaps on my steel wheels.

My Cruiser does the same thing. I've had my Moon hubs for about 6 months and since it's been hot out, the driver front one rotates so the valve stem gets bent.

My car also has a tick noise that is most noticable from this wheel. I noticed a slight tight from this wheel before the hubs, but after adding the hubs, it's louder. I figure it's because the hub is metal and causing the noise to echo.

The inch 3M brand non-slip stair (ladder) tread tape that I used on my wheels has stopped the noise and the moon cover rotation. I now have several weeks of driving both around town and on a 200 mile highway trip without problems. I dare say that the idea works.

Where did you buy this stuff? All I seam to see at HD or Lowes is 2" wide. Also, did you go completely around the inner rim or just where the finger grip? I'm probably going to try it. Thanks.

I wasn't able to find 1" think stuff, but I did get some 2" thick stuff. I figure I'll just cut it in half. I'll let you know how it works.

I have a set of flipper caps, there just baby moons with a bar on them. They seem to fit to my stock rims but if I bounce the wheel up and down about 4 times it will kick the cap off. This is before I've even mounted them on the car. Did anyone out there have issues loosing any caps from their stock rims? Does the tape trick create a tighter seal between the cap and the rim? If so that might be all I need to try these caps with out fear of loosing them within a couple of miles or one good bump.

The tape seams to have done the trick. The noise is almost completely gone. I only occational hear a faint tick, but I didn't put the tape on my rear wheels, just did the front. Time will tell on the rotating.

Yes, they were tight and it took a little more work to get them on. Now, I'm not sure how easy they'll be to get off, but I'll see when the time comes.
