Wheels/tires on Craigslist. Updated ?s post 4
I found some 16x7 with 40 offset wheels on craigslist that sound promising.
I know the pt has a "high offset". Is 40 high enough? Also, I forget, does a higher offset push the wheel out or pull it in? Last edited by j0e; 23 Apr 2013 at 11:04 am.

Offset is correct. I believe the stock 16" wheels are 40. Just make sure they are 5x100. High offset pushes the wheel in. Most front wheel drive cars have high positive offset.

New Craigslist find...
How about 17s with 225/50 tires? According to seller they have a 3" back spacing. I figure an offset of 38-45 based on vehicle info. Overall diameter will be about .9" taller. Will I have issues? Last edited by j0e; 23 Apr 2013 at 11:21 am.

From what I can find they will fit with no rubbing but your speedo will be off several mph.

Yeah. I'm not worried about speedo being a little off.
I'm just concerned with rubbing.

Turns out the wheels I'm looking at are 17x7.5 and +45 offset.
Think I'm ok? Also, what exactly is "high offset"?

Also, I read in another thread that the wrx has a smaller hub than the pt.

What does the wrx have to do with this ? The wrx uses 5 x 114,3 wheels and those don 't fit the PT.
And all your other questions will be answered if you simply do a google search...
