Default Finally Lowered

Bought all the lowering parts I was going to use last month. Finally! And I mean finally had everything installed a couple days ago.

Originally ordered Tein coils for front and back, but they were so back-ordered they could not let me know when, or if, I would ever receive them. So went back into the interwebs and found a set of Eibach coils...at almost half the price of the Teins(!!!), although with the shipping from Poland the total price was about the same. Ended up just under $200. Super sweet.

Also, ended up buying KYB struts, for the front, and shocks, for the back. About $200 altogether for all 4 corners. Adding in installation ($500) and alignment ($100) - a tidy $1K to lower my PT 2" all the way around.

Driving around the last couple of days has been enjoyable. No difference in ride comfort or handling. I can really tell the difference in how much closer to the street I'm seem to be sitting.

Very pleased with the job overall and highly recommend the Eibach/KYB combination for anyone thinking of lowering their PT.

Here are the photos:

Happy Pt-ing everyone.

Here's a photo of the box of Eibach coils. Item number is in the label in case you want to buy a set.

Thanks. Next, I'm doing the brakes. Updating the rusted rotors and drums with brand new Powerstop stock replacement rotor and drum kits.

Should look nice and shiny under my chrome rims. Gonna spray the drums with chrome and clearcoat too.

Waiting for the calipers to be delivered some time this next week and then will probably take my PT into the shop the week after.

Will post more pics very soon.

I have also lowering springs with kyb gas struts. Firm ride, but more feedback and precision.

Didn't think of that. Just ordered the direct replacement Z-17 for the price I got for them at Rock Auto. Oh well, live and learn.

Here's the latest pics post-brake (rear drums only) job:

Still waiting on the new calipers to do the complete rotors update. Planning on next week for that, so will post more pics when I get that done.

As for the lowering that was done, the handling is practically OEM. I honestly have not noticed any difference in the ride quality. I know my driving habits (accelerating, braking, cornering) have not changed. I'm really impressed and feeling proud of doing that to my PT.

HIGHLY recommend doing the same to your PT for EVERYONE.

Front rotors completed with new calipers. Looking great and working flawlessly. Much brighter red than the photos show.
